Short version: we collect what you type into our forms and what we need to run your event, we use it only for that, and we never sell or share it. Guest details on an event site are deleted 14 days after the event.
Who we are
seemyevent.com is run by seemyevent, built and operated by The Pew Estate Digital. We design and host private invitation websites for single events. "We" and "us" on this page means seemyevent.
When you ask for a quote
The quote form collects what you tell us: the kind of event, its name, the date, roughly how many guests, the features you want, your name, your email address, your phone number if you give it, how you'd like us to reach you, and any notes. We also keep the time you sent it, the page or campaign that brought you here when your browser shares it, your browser's name and version, and your connection's IP address, so we can spot and stop spam.
We use it to reply about your event and to prepare your quote. You get one email confirming we received it, with a copy of what you sent.
When you send a message
The contact form collects your name, email address, phone number if you give it, the subject you pick, your message, the time and your IP address. We use it to answer you.
Your client account and proposals
If you book with us, we keep your name, email address and phone number, and the details of your event: the date, the guest count, what we're building, the price and what you've paid. When we set up your client login, we store a scrambled one-way version of your password, never the password itself, so nobody can read it, not even us.
When you accept a proposal online, we record the name you type, the time, your IP address and your browser's name as the record of your acceptance, and email you a copy.
Cookies
The public pages of this site set no cookies and use no analytics or advertising trackers. When you sign in to your client account, we set one cookie so the site knows it's you while you're signed in. It is used for nothing else.
Guest details on event sites
When we run an event site for you, your guests give it their names, phone numbers, email addresses if asked, who they're bringing, and their RSVP answers. We handle those details on your behalf, as the host, and only to run your event: showing guests their invitation, sending RSVP emails and passes, and checking guests in at the door.
We never sell or share guest details, and we never use them to market anything to your guests. Your site goes offline the day after your event. Guest details stay in your account for 14 days after the event so you can download your guest list, then they are deleted.
Guests pay hosts directly. We don't collect or store guests' payment details.
Emails we send
- A confirmation when you ask for a quote, and our replies to you.
- Your proposal, a copy once you accept it, and messages about your event while we're working on it.
- Sign-in emails for your client account: a link to set your password, and a reset link when you ask for one.
- On event sites, RSVP emails to the host and passes to guests.
We don't add you to a mailing list because you asked for a quote or sent a message. If we ever send news to people who asked for it, every one of those emails has an unsubscribe link that works straight away.
Who else is involved
A few companies help us run the site. They only handle your information to provide their service to us:
- Hostinger, which hosts this website and its database.
- Our email provider, which delivers the emails this site sends.
- Cloudflare, which runs our domain name and, when it's switched on, the "I'm human" check on our forms.
- Google Fonts, which supplies the typefaces on this site, so your browser fetches them from Google's servers.
How long we keep it
We keep quote requests and messages for as long as we need them to answer you and follow up, and client and payment records for as long as the law requires us to keep business records. Guest details on an event site are deleted 14 days after the event. Security logs are cleared on a schedule.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Reply to any email from us, or send us a message, and we'll take care of it. If you're a guest at an event we host and want your details removed before the site comes down, ask the host or write to us.
Children
This site is for adults planning events. We don't knowingly collect information from children. Hosts are responsible for the guests they invite.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update it here and change the date at the top of the page.
